hmm, who are the Bandits? Are they like a club-ish organization?

At one point, the National Association of Rocketry required that NAR sections not conduct launches because of COVID. Although they eventually allowed launches, phase I state COVID regulations did not allow gatherings such as would be the case with a CMASS launch.

A few rocketeers were meeting on their own in very small groups and held their own launches.
The Bandits are not a NAR section or an official club.
Attendance is limited at launches to 10 people.
All participants are required to wear a mask and maintain social distance.
Space must be maintained between cars in the parking area.
Space must be maintained between setups on the flight line,
Low to mid power only. NO high power.
Most importantly, the NAR Safety code must be followed to the letter.

Starting on August 8th, CMASS has been holding regularly scheduled launches. Since then, the Bandits have only held a couple of launches. At this time, CMASS launches are more frequent which has limited the need for the Bandits to meet.

Back in early April, Tony Vincent and I got together at Woodsom Farm in Amesbury to launch a few rockets, as the upcoming CMASS launches were cancelled. We wore masks and practiced social distancing and we had a good couple of hours of launching. I took some pictures and wrote a short article . The pictures of Tony and I just screamed 'Bandits' and 'Bandit Rocketeers' was born. The term morphed into 'Rocket Bandits', but as Frank stated, it is just a non-official, non-CMASS gathering of rocket enthusiasts for the purpose of launching rockets.
