Team H.A.W.K.'s rocket has returned to earth!! :cheer: :cheer:

Dominic and Riley Stevens found the rocket out of the tree and on the ground. The tubes are spongy but intact so the SD card may be in good enough shape to yield some data.

Here is an edited note from the professor, Wes Watters:

THIS IS FANTASTIC NEWS.

Thank you so much!! Please pass along my thanks to the others who helped with the recovery.

I have been meaning to get in touch since last Wednesday, when I was awarded a teaching award at the College's Academic Council meeting because of the 'Hands-On Planetary Exploration' class.

The class of course drew heavily upon the expertise of everyone who helped the students, including you and CMASS, and so I think of you all as co-recipients. As a result of this award, the class is certain to receive funding and support for many future iterations (the next will happen a year from this coming spring).

I'm hugely pleased the HAWK is back on the ground and drying out -- I look forward to the postmortem data recovery when we can arrange a meeting with the local club members.

Thank you again!

Wes

Wow that's amazing! Hopefully they will be able to pull data off the SD card.
