As we approach the end of the contest year, a quick look at CMASS results for the year.

As a section, we are in 11th place in the Section Championship with 91 points. WHOOSH leads the Section Championship race with 619 points. Clearly, WHOOSH has been doing a lot of contest flying.

Of our section's contest flyers:

A Altitude - Stephen Maire, 9th, 223m; Rick Hobbs, 13th, 115m. (C Div leader, 471m)
A SD - Stephen Maire, 8th, 176 secs. (C Div leader, 360 secs)
1/4A PD - Stephen Maire, 1st, 180 secs. (180 secs is the maximum time allowed, there are 10 flights with this time.)
B Egg Dur - Stephen Maire, 8th, 46 secs. (C Div leader, 95 secs.)

The NRC contest year ends June 30. Events for the 2023-24 NRC should be announced by July 1. While our July 15 launch will not qualify as an NRC event, it is a good opportunity to test fly your NRC rockets. To get ready for that launch, a look at recent NRC event history says that you will need rockets for:

- Altitude, likely not more than A and/or Payload Altitude, probably B, perhaps C.
- PD/SD birds, less than A.
- Egglofter, guessing that this will be C Eggloft Altitude this coming year.
- B/G, the history says A or smaller

While these have been the core events over the past several years, HD has been flown 3 times, RG once and Sport Scale once.

Regards,

Stephen
