I had a good time meeting all of you that came last Saturday in Acton.
I was surprised to see the number of saucers, spools, and other non traditional rocket shapes.
I was wondering if anyone could point me to any info on their design?
I especially liked that 3 sided corner of a cube!
Thanks, -Ryan

The black "corner of a box" that flew and spun is an Applewhite kit called a Stealth. That size is what they used to sell as a 38mm kit, but they do not seem to be selling that size anymore. It would not be hard to make one from double or triple corrugated cardboard.

The silver saucer is a 38mm Classic saucer. Their Delta and Cinco saucers are also a lot of fun.

I like to get the 38mm sized kits and use a 29mm adapter to fly them more economically and at low power launches.

On the Web at: www.artapplewhite.com/

Also flew my Turbine Rocket Saucer that went up on 5x D12 motors and spun as it flew. That is an original design that is not available as a kit, although FlisKits may be working on a smaller version of something like it. This saucer was featured in the Nov/Dec issue of Sport Rocketry.

Please see bpasa.com for pictures and info.

very cool.
Thanks for the link.

after the launch Saturday we launched a 8" spool in a nearby field that was setup to fly in less than 15 minutes.

flew as good as I could ask, nice and straight.
There was no recovery so it bent one side while landing.
But deffinetly a interesting side of rocketry.

I think I may try the Scimitar.
I like that they have some free plans: www.artapplewhite.com/free.html
makes me wanna buy something from them.
