Our next launch in Amesbury is scheduled for 06 October.
We must be doing something right because, once again, we were treated to excellent weather for our last launch of the year. As you can see from the pictures in the gallery, we had a huge crowd. Among the many people there were scouts from two packs who came prepared and ready to fly and the kids from MIT who demonstrated that the MIT Wiggle™ is a reproduceable phenomenon. I believe the flight count was around 320 not including the night launch. The light winds were in our favor and we kept most everything on the field. In fact, things came back that had been missing for a while. Howard's Thunderbolt was returned by a thoughtful neighbor who retrieved it from a tree. Because of the number of people, we were flying right up to 4:30 which gave us a small window to tear down the range and set up some pads near the road for the night launch. When the sun goes down on Woodsom farm it gets dark, really dark. We have more and more flights for the nigh launch every year which is good unless you're really hungry and can't wait to get to Acapulcos for the post launch debriefing. Thanks to everyone who helped out on the range crew this year. See you in Acton in January. I'm predicitng snow on the ground and a warm sunny day.
