We had a great day for our Winter Follies this year. Maybe not the best day this rollercoaster of season has seen but good for a cold, sunny day. As we do with all our winter launches, we kept it casual with no flight cards so we don’t have an accurate count of the launches but it likely number better than 150. Thanks to all who came out to help and to those who flew all those rockets.
Lots of great models and designs. Kevin took pictures of almost every launch and has posted many of them in the Gallery; if you have more shots, please upload them. Some of the standouts were, Bruce’s Dragon, Tim’s Titan cluster and Curtis’ spinning tractor rocket. Despite the cold weather, there was a Mega Mosquito buzzing around. A deployment issue led to a bad crash of a Saturn V – landing in the road probably wasn’t any more destructive than coming down on the grass that day.
And as many rockets will, this Big Bertha found the water on the field, fortunately, it was frozen so there won’t be any need to dry out and rebuild.
Our regular season starts up again in April. If you want to help out at a TARC launch, look at the schedule and keep an eye on the website for any changes due to weather. Buy your season passes early so you get the most benefit from them.
