To make it absolutely clear, CMASS does not allow "sparky" motors at any of our launches.

While searching on Google Earth, Bob Krech came across this image of Davis Field in Sudbury. You can clearly see the trailer and the range setup. There's a higher resolution image in the gallery. Considering we fly in Sudbury on only two days a year the odds of us being caught on camera are slim. However, this is not the first time. Years ago Phil Chouinard stumbled across a photo of us in Amesbury. There is also a higher resolution copy of that image.  





February 4, 2012 Acton Winter Carnival

 Once again Jim Salem got us invited to do a demo launch at the Acton Winter Carnival. Last year it was canceled because of too much snow. The year before it was held at night and it was exceptionally cold. Compared to that the weather was pleasant. We set up at the base of a hill with a constant breeze coming from over the hill blowing in the direction of the pond. We had more spectators than we expected so it was good that we had several members show up to provide a continuous stream of flights. Spools, saucers and a few composite flights were crowd pleasers. In spite of the less than ideal conditions I'm pretty sure everything was recovered including a couple of water and tree retrievals. There are details and videos in the Forum and photos in the Gallery. And we got some nice coverage on the Acton Patch.
