No prior experience necessary. As Kenn described, there is a
combat role (at the fire) and a
support role (coordinating resources), so
everyone is welcome and strongly encouraged to attend. The classroom session will run 3-5PM, and the practical
hands-on session will run 5-7pm. There are equally important support role duties for the practical hands-on session. For the combat role you must be in good health and capable of light to moderate physical activity. If you rake your own leaves, shovel snow and otherwise actively maintain your own home that's perfect.
Required clothing cotton (non-synthetic) long pants and leather work boots. Bring a water bottle for your hydration. Recommended safety glasses and work gloves. Sturdy hiking footwear is acceptable alternative.
The event shall be held regardless of fire weather conditions. If fire danger level unfavorable, fire lines shall be marked on the ground and practical hands-on work shall be done.
