It can be used on either. These days I'm using it mostly over enamel. That's actually one of the key reasons it's so useful: it doesn't tend to react with most paint types. Can't say the same for some clear gloss sprays I've tried that left me with orange peel, or worse (I'm lookin' at you, Krylon!)

Future/Revive It comes in a plastic bottle it can either be brushed on or shot through an airbrush. I'd never hear of anyone applying it with a brush before Tony, but it actually works quite well and smooths quite nicely. It doesn't dry as quickly as some acrylics, which is good in this case.
