It’s that time again! We’re trying to pull together the next Mega Mosquito swarm… er, “drag race”… for the first Fall Amesbury launch on Sept. 23 (24th, rain date). As always the recommended motor is a D12-3, but as this is more “display” than “race”, it’s not a hard and fast rule.
Seems like every time we do this we add one or two more participants. We should have at least Curtis joining the swarm this time, flying his clone with custom 3D printed parts. We’ve yet to fill all the pads, but we could be getting close!
BTW, if you don’t already have a Mega Mosquito and want to grab an original (non-clone) at retail cost, Hog Heaven Hobbies in Fiskdale (near Sturbridge) has kept restocking on them. You can call to check if they still have them (508-347-9350), but the probability is high and they’re running around $33. If those are gone, Bad Boy Rocketry sells a fine clone with upgraded plywood parts for $45 (see link below).
