I'd be surprised if either of the two designs I have in mind will even reach my 250m goal. I've got nose cones and fins and other parts worked out but have yet to settle on body tube lengths. I'll have to give those apps a try. And I need a way to weigh my rockets too. All in good time. But I think I've gotten about all I'm going to get from what I flew last time.
And, as a couple of people found out, it's not too hard to lose a rocket at the Acton field. Back in June my Mini-Bertha clone sailed across Rt. 2 on an A3-4T. And the wind picked up in the afternoon at the last launch. I was flying bigger rockets and at a guess I'd say it was blowing close to 20 mph aloft. So you want to go big but not too big. I'm definitely switching to streamers if it's windy at all.
Good luck with the new design. See you next time.

Check out OpenRocket

openrocket.info/

as a design program. You will be able to play around with different body tube lengths and engine.

I agree about Acton. I am figuring streamer recovery to bring it back with less drift.
