21 NRC flights were flown at yesterday's launch in 6 of the 7 NRC events. The only one missing was Sport Scale, although enough scale rockets were flown to have qualified if someone had wanted to enter.

The hottest competition was in A PD which had 13 flights. The results:
Div     Name     Result
A       Gloria LaPlanta              24.00
          Vivien LaPlanta               5.77
B       Gregory Lehmann         46.41 sec
C       Ed Patterson-Gordon   194.15
         Rick Hobbs (2)                67.49
         Stephen Maire                38.0
         Guy Wadsworth              34.13
         Rick Hobbs (1)                30.09

B Altitude also saw multiple competitors at the C division:
C   Rick Hobbs             166.26m
      Michael Lehmann   123.38m

In addition there were single flights on 4 of the other events, all in C division.
1/4A SD   Stephen Maire   17.34 sec
1/2A RG   Stephen Maire   43.24 sec
A Heli       Stephen Maire    33.31 sec
B Egg Alt  Michael Lehmann  DQ for separation

Our next NRC event should be at the September 4 in Acton.

If you do not have an NAR membership, please join and let me know your number so that I can add your results to the NRC Scoreboard.

Thank you to all of you who assisted with timing and to RSOs and LCOs as we figured out the logistics of contest flying.

Congratulations to all who competed...Thank you Steve and NAR for organizing this...and a special shoutout to my new rocket girl friends Gloria and Vivien! It was so nice to meet you both and your mom and dad...Sorry for the lost rocket, Vivien, it was a really good flight!! I spent some time looking for it, but I was unable to find it :-( I hope you join us again for a future launch

This is a fun way to measure rocket performance.
I have a question about altitude:
My two flights attained 143m and 157m, respectively. How was the number 166.26m arrived at?
Looks like I need to start studying the rules.
I've already got some ideas percolating for future launches.
Thanks again for setting this up.

Rick,

For altitude events there is a temperature adjustment put into the achieved altitude. The Pink Book section on altitude lays out the calculation. So the highest altitude of the 2 flights is taken, then adjusted for temperature.

Thank you, Stephen. That makes sense now.
I'm setting myself a goal to reach 250m.
Parts have been ordered.

Rick,
OpenRocket says 289 for my design. Will see how accurate it is.
