Winter Follies 2025 with ARC & Night Launches

Our Acton Winter Follies launch in 2025 is scheduled for 11 January at the earliest. If the weather looks too bad for that day, we have the flexibility to postpone the launch to the Sunday of that weekend. We also have the option of sliding to the following weekends if the weather dictates. A call will be made the Wednesday before the scheduled day to give the GO or NO GO signal.

Because we couldn't hold our Amesbury launch in November, we are going to do our joint night launch with N.O.R.G. at the end of the day's launch. As we are planning on staying after sunset, we will start at noon rather than the usual 10 AM.

As always, Acton is a low- and mid-power field only; no high-power motors and no sparkies. Set-up will be scheduled for 11:45 AM. We'll likely use a smaller number of pads set up on sawhorses as the ground will be even harder to pound our usual stakes into. There won't be any launch fee but we may use launch cards if the conditions allow. 

This launch will also be a good place for any ARC teams to do practice or qualifying flights. We'll have ARC only launches scheduled in Acton for 08 & 22 March and 05 April.

This is typically a short duration launch shutting down in the early afternoon; this year, with the noon start and the night launch, we won't be having food service. There will be the usual debriefing at an area restaurant after we pack up the trailer; help out and you are welcome to attend.
