I'm trying to remember the details of a tubular rocket that someone flew some years ago. It was a cylindrical rocket about 12 inches in diameter and 3 feet tall. It was made out of a single wrap of that thin insulation sheet, hollow on the inside. It had some sort of internal structure to support motors and the launch rod. It flew on a D to about 20-30 feet from what I can remember. I think it was Acton ... maybe 10 years ago.
Anyway, I trying to build ones. It would act a tubular fin. I set the 3d printer loose on the problem to make a motor support. I can only go 7 5/8 inches in diameter.
