May 9 Acton: Next M-Mosquito drag race!

The subject title kinda says it all. I believe we maxed out the available pads last time... and now with the kit back in production from Estes it only invites more participation. Maybe we'll have to fly two rounds? In any case, I hope a) the weather favors us, and b) that you can make it!

Right now it's looking like a probable rain out for Saturday, so just playing it on the safe side I'm going to postpone the Skeeter drag race to the following launch. Sorry folks.... but maybe that'll give a few folks time to finish the latest reissue from Estes and participate?!

IF we have a launch Saturday, the Skeeter race is on. And if we get cancelled again, we'll kick it down the road to the next launch. Fingers crossed that the Fates smile on us, Saturday.

Right now things are looking promising for Sat., so just a reminder to folks that if we fly, the Mega Mosquito drag race is a GO! Smoke 'm if you got 'em!

Saturday looks good but we're scheduled to fly on Sunday the 14th (which looks as good with less humidity). Once we get rid of the crickets, we can swarm the field with Mega Mosquitos.

HA! I knew that.... 'til I didn't know that.... but now I know it again!

I guess Deb and I can start scrutinizing the right forecast, now.

Fingers crossed - Skeeter HO!

Are the Scouts who were scheduled to come to the last (cancelled) launch coming to this one?

My Scout Pack held a pack only launch this past Saturday. 26 scouts accounted for 55 tickets launched on a successful afternoon.

Hoping next year we are able to once again him a CMASS launch, but then again maybe we've become a rain jinx.

I'll be away this weekend, su once again I can't join either 😫

Hey folks - Deb and I are a no-go for tomorrow due to the winds and our long drive, but feel free to pull together the Skeeter race if you have the birds to fly. Ask Kenn if you need any guidance on setting it up. Have fun and we hope to see you all in two weeks.

One of the drag racers will have to get things set up as I won't be attending the launch on the 14th. The standard launch lug on the Mega M is 3/16" so get those rods swapped out where needed. If you have a 1/4" lug or rail guides, make sure you're set up for those.

From what I hear the drag race didn't happen, so we'll try to pull it together for the 27th (less than two weeks away!). Just a reminder for folks that the "official" engine for the drag race is the D12-3, but if you have a clone that uses heavier materials, you're free to use something stronger.

Fingers crossed for primo weather and it'd be great to fill all available pads again!
