Good Day,

Please accept this invitation to join me for a rocket themed social at the Sanford Seacoast Municipal Airport, Hanger E50 from 10AM to 2pm-ish February 21st. My facility is a based in a well equipped aircraft hangar that is heated with a 60'X45' aircraft/rocket maintenance area, two bathrooms, a kitchen, lounge, office and internet access. My party furnishings are limited to about 10 chairs, so if you want to bring a folding chair or two that might help.

  • Bring a dish or a drink you'd like to share.
  • Bring up a rocket or two for display if you like
  • Got a learning presentation you can make, I'll have a projector, computer and internet available.
  • We'll eat around 11:45 and can watch LDR and BALLS CATO compilations.
  • We'll keep vNARCON-2026 up on the big screen so you can monitor that event as well.

I'll be offering a 20 minute presentation on my Level 3 Rocket design called "Smoked Road Runner" and introducing interested folks to modeless sandwich foam core construction used to make the aircraft I build, modify and test fly. At least two aircraft will be available for hands-on display and discussion.

A table will be set up for you to receive some guided hands-on instruction in the use of West System and MGS 285 epoxy, PVC/urethane/divinycell/2 part expanding and other foams, fiberglass, kevlar, carbon fibers, micro, flox, peel ply, cabosil and other materials and tools.

It would be helpful to RSVP here before coming, but not strictly necessary.

To get here, come to:

199 Airport Road

Sanford, ME 04073

When you arrive, park in the main parking lot and I'll come out to escort you in through the secure area. DO NOT try to come through on your own and DO NOT call the main FBO and ask them to open the gate. It could make things awkward for me with the airport management. So please be patient and wait in the parking lot as instructed for myself or my son to escort you on the field.

Weather and schedule permitting and if it's not too cold, I might be able to offer a few rides for folks that want to go flying.

Post here or call or email me with questions. Feel free to pass this invitation on to other local area rocket clubs. Also, try to carpool if you can, it's about a 90 minute drive up here from Boston. More fun with friends!

Sounds like a great time. Unfortunately, all my February weekends are already spoken for.

Guy.

FYI, I had mistakenly put the wrong date in the original posting. The correct day is February 21!

And if you can't make that day and want to come up on your own your welcome to do that as well. I'm typically here since I run my business here.

Reminder!

Your invited to a potluck luncheon and gathering at my workshop at the Sanford Seacoast Municipal Airport in Sanford Maine on February 21st. Some members from the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 106 will also be in attendance so it might be a good cross-training opportunity!

Bring a rocket to show-and-tell!

EAA will provide some sandwiches but you can also bring a dish to share!

Hope to see you there!

Izzy

Things a cooking up here in Sanford! In spite of the snow, we've got a pretty good showing. I'll kick off the Narcon 2026 on the big screen in the pilot lounge around 12:00. We'll be setting up the food in the kitchen, help yourself!

Ladys room is upstairs, anyones room is downstairs. The toiler remote has icons on it and is somewhat intuitive :)

Izzy

Thanks for a great event everyone! Have a great vNARCON 26!
