Launch!

The 07/26 volunteering opportunity is now open. I believe that the problems with signing up (specifically, the Error Opening Page popup) are gone - please let me know otherwise.

There's the rare problem of getting a message describing a session error - this is a session timeout related to volunteer opportunity locking/versioning when you have a tab/window open too long on the opportunity. If you run into this, just logout and then log back in again. If that doesn't work, try a different browser, or clear your cookies.

I always help with range setup in the morning but I haven't bothered to "sign up" for that. This is the second launch I have signed up for and performed 3 slots of Pad Assistance duty. It's been fun so far, I like helping people become addicted to flying rockets. 😁

Just to be clear, when I wrote "member album", I was referring to photo albums that members can create and post. Only members can see the member directory, and members choose what they want to expose (of which we require the bare minimum).

The Gallery and Forum are readable by the public (as was the old CMASS site) but not writeable. I've not seen personal information disclosed there, but I recognize that the time is here for AI site scrapers to attempt facial recognition. Another reason to carefully curate one's PI.

I would recommend against having an on-line member album with pictures and names. Hackers love that kind of stuff. It can quickly be used for identity theft.

Have you created a member album, and uploaded your photos to it? That will make those available in the Gallery, and JP can move those to a common album if you like.

I regret leaving Linda out - I was going from the signup list and direct interactions. Does Linda have an account here?

I was able to sign Matt up. I didn't know that he also did the purchasing.

Linda DeAngelo and Matt run the hot dog, drink and snack concession at every launch. I know that Linda did not sign up since the new website went online. I am not sure about Matt. In addition to helping out on launch day, Matt does the shopping for all the items that are sold.

The ClubExpress volunteering mechanism (when it works! 😡) allows us to keep track of volunteer hours if you sign up. I'd like to recognize volunteers at the end of the launch season in some way, with some sort of prize/gesture. Could be a kit, or shirt. Could be Kenn Blade's voice as your outgoing voicemail message. Could be moving Guy to a salaried position. Ideas welcome.

For those folks that didn't signup, or were pressed into service impromptu (Matt, Mike), I signed you up for the slot you filled. If you contributed, but didn't sign up, let me know and I'll record it.
