Ahhh... I'm planning on getting at least three sets of vacuform stuff, capsules, and several sets of decals. .. probably 6. I think it'd be great to get the decals in vinyl... but then you'd probably need to use gloss paint with a flat clear overcoat.

Evidently StickerShock23 had 1/100 vinyl for $30, but it looks really nice! Also has a nice Service Modlule wrapper of the appropriate coloration. Almost worth it! (website evidently is back on-line)

Almost done... after sitting idle for 40+ years nearly fully constructed but no paint etc... all that's left to do are the silver bits/fin decals and the recovery system....

I guess it wouldn't hurt to glue in the motor mount....

Perfectionist.

That looks sharp. It would have done well at the NARCON Saturn V beauty contest.

Had tons of trouble with the vertical motion decal... I ended up using a printout of the Centuri decal sheet pdf as a guide to cut rectangles into masking tape and I just *painted* them in. Not too bad even close up!

Hoping for a calm day at Amesbury for this one. Once it flies I'll likely start on the Estes Apollo 11 variant. I'm calling this one "Apollo 4" since the markings are more indicative of AS 501 than AS 506

There is no debating that you did a great job. I think the only way mine will ever get built is if I have grandchildren that decide to take up the hobby. From looking at the directions I can see that this is not a 3 fins and a nose cone kit. This requires real modeling skills.

C'mon, Frank, I've seen your work... you have the skills for sure! You just dont rush the job! Like in this case, for around 40+ years!
