I'm thinking of making a rocket using 100% Gold Monocote as the finish. Wrap around the body tube, wrap tight over the fins like paper over balsa fins.  The only hard part would be the nose cone, but if I use a pure cone shape it should be very do-able.  I'll call her "Goldie".

Finally stopped being lazy and built and repaired few rockets. I repaired my Semroc SPEV that lawn darted in Amesbury and I also repaired the Estes Monarch that was destroyed by a Quest bp motor cato at the Winter Follies. As far as new builds, I've finished up a Squirrel Works Astrid and a MoreRockets Dragon Ship 7(they still needs decals), a Custom Rockets Bits and Bytes (in primer) and now I'm in the process of building a Mean Machine. I'll post some pictures in the gallery when they are finished up...

Just about done with construction of an Estes Low Boom SST that they were kind enough to send me when a faulty D12-5 resulted in a lawn dart with my SR-71. Will have to wait for some warmer weather to do paint and decals.

In 2020 I flew 33 D12 engines with no problems. Last year I flew 24 D12 engines. One had no ejection charge and one had a very weak ejection charge. At the Winter Follies I flew two D12's. One had a side blowout. Looks like the most recent vintage of D12's are prone to CATO.
