Hi there,
Recently we have been discussing
new places to hold club meetings
. I have been thinking about possibly using a makerspace as a place where we can not only hold meetings but also build stuff. Where we would have access to tools like milling and laser cutting machines, 3D printers, welding equipment, etc. A while back Kenn and I went to go check out the
Artisans Asylum
in Somerville and I recently went to check out the
Framingham Makerspace
. I think the Framingham Makerspace could have some real potential as a place to not only hold our usual meetings but maybe even rent some space there for CMASS members to hang out and build stuff and take advantage of the facilities.
So...
We are soliciting your thoughts and feedback on this idea. Please respond and let us know what you think.
We don't want to get involved with this if no one is interested. We are working out the cost but we first need to know who would be interested and at what level.
Some questions:
Would you go to club meetings in Framingham?
Would you be interested in taking advantage of the equipment at a Makerspace?
Do you think it would be fun for CMASS to have a dedicated space with tables and storage where people could come and work on projects?
Let us know what you think - Thanks!
