Howard and I, suffering a severe case of rocket launch withdrawl, shuffled a few zoom meetiigs and called in a few vaction hours to take advanage of a deep blue sky and no wind in Acton. We did a Deuce's Wild! drag race on 2xF59 CTI smokey sams. I got some good shots from the ground, from a drone, and from an onboard video camera. I put one of each in the follies gallery.
Howard got this amazing slo-mo video. He will post on youtube and post the link.
I had good and bad luck with eggtimer apogee altimeters. One worked fine, but the other (even though I had vacuum test i)t, did not go off. The backup motor ejection did not blow the parachute out. It had a hard landing, but repairable. The one that worked recorded 236 feet, so I'm wondring if the other one didn't trigger launch detect. I will email Cris Erving and see what it is set as. I do have 5:1 weight/thrust ratio, but the drag from those huge fins keeps the alt very low.
