REMINDER INVITATION: The last NORG Event of the year is approaching. For those of you who have been following the posts the 3rd NORG Event on September 9th was bumped due to an unsanctioned softball game. We have been instructed to use the authority of our Park Permit to ask the parties on the field to leave and if they don't then to call the Salem Police. It's unfortunate what happened but not everyone takes the time to go through the proper steps involved in responsible park usage. Please come early to the 4th NORG Event to help show that we are indeed a "group activity" and if you wish help with the set-up. If we have a low turn out then we may call it an early evening. Late comers be warned.
Kenn has asked us to keep our posts on one link or string and so look for latest posted attached to this notice. As always, you may find the latest post on the official NORG website:

As a friendly reminder, The City of Salem becomes very hectic during the month of October which is the height of the tourist season. Also, this is the 4th NORG Event and is scheduled for the 1st full October weekend of the month. Be prepared for traffic and parking issues. I suggest you car pool if you can. There are no restroom facilities at the park. Local merchants are generally not accommodating (if you find one be prepared to make a purchase) given the influx of people especially downtown (the city sets up "port-a-potties" for this reason).
Also, of note, this year marks the 325th anniversary of the "Witch Trials". Of particular interest to our Gallows Hill Park site, a year or two ago they found the actual site of the hangings (19 people hanged, 1 pressed to death -- Giles Corey). It turns out there were actually no gallows but a hanging tree. On July 19th of this year a memorial to the victims of the hysteria was dedicated near that spot ("Proctors Ledge" on Pope Street; a good City of Salem link on the the topic is:
www.salem.com/proctors-ledge-memorial-project ). As a result we may have more activity than usual.
