CG and CP on Soviet N1 model? was created by rodthomas
Hey Guys,

I'm working on a model of the Soviet N1. I found the pattern for a paper model online. I've blown it up 201% and spray glued the xeroxed patterns onto various card stocks and "bristol board" stock. I built up the rocket around a standard body tube. It's coming along nicely, and it's time for me to start thinking about the CG and the CP.
The N1's shape was essentially one huge cone (with no fins). My model is a 57 inch tall cone, that has a base diameter of 9 inches. At present it weighs a little over 1 pound. I've used the swing test on rockets this size before to test for stability, but I was wondering if any of you guys with Rocksim or some other such software could punch in the above data and tell me where aproximately I should find my CG? I'm ready to start adding weight to the nose, but I don't want to add any more than necessary.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rod Thomas
