I got the chance to fly my Altimeter One a few times on Saturday. I like the low cost, ease of use and the rechargeable battery features. It is also usable with any rocket as it does not require a payload/electronics bay to keep it isolated from ejection charges. It only needs 3 small evenly spaced holes around the body tube just below the nose cone shoulder. The LCD display is a nice feature - you just read the maximum altitude on the display. If that is all you are looking for, it seems to do the job nicely. Example flights:
Estes Chrome Dome on B6-4 226 ft
\" \" \" \" C6-5 625 ft
Estes Baby Bertha on B6-4 317 ft
Estes Maniac on D12-5 839 ft
Maximum reporting altitude is 29,500 ft, which should be good enough for most fields.
Guy.
