Leviathan Pro Series II Kit

If anyone has tired to purchase a Leviathan kit you know by now that they are no where to be found. I forgot what a great kit it is until I saw a young person with one at the recent RIMRA launch. Unfortunately he was not able to launch it because of launch lug problems. I talked to his mom about a 10/10 rail button retrofit. To make it easier for her I created a video. Do you all think the video will be helpful to someone with limited mechanical experience?

I noticed that the Estes Web site sells a lot of what you would need to build a Leviathan from scratch. If you are familiar with the Scion kit I'm sure you noticed the resemblance to the Leviathan. I'm heading over to the Estes site to see specifically what parts are available. The Scion kit shipped with an extra fin that I believe is actually an upside down Leviathan fin.

The Estes site has many of the authentic Leviathan parts in their Pro Series II section. The only items they don't have are the fins, centering rings and nose cone. Nose cones and CRs are something you can get online. I can trace the fin pattern on 1/8 basswood and cut them out. Before the end of the season I hope to have a scratch built Leviathan up in the air. If anyone wants to trace the fin I have you are most welcome to do so.

The two body tubes, coupler, motor tubes, engine retainer and chute are on order from Estes. A friend of mine with a scroll saw can cut out the fins for me. I got a nice Loc Precision shock cord from Jason. Rocketarium and Giant Lea[ has centering rings and a nose cone that look interesting.

Thanks for the information. If an Estes tube has an OD of 3" then the NC has to have an OD less than 3".
I looked at the Balsa Machining Service web site. They have three NC listed with an OD of 3" and an ID of 2.93". I'm a bit confused as to how a NC can had an ID. I would think that a NC would only have an OD? www.balsamachining.com/# What is a T300 tube?

The CR OD would also have to be less than 3". Did you see a particular CR with an OD that was less than 3" that can accommodate a 29 mm motor tube?
