Please see this thread on TRF for information. If your team is interested in flying, let us know by posting here or on the TRF thread.

If you are a non-NAR or NAR member that flies with the club and would like to help at any or all of these launches, please let us know in this thread. For those not familiar with these TARC launches, we set up some pads and provide the ground support equipment. We need NAR members to act as timers (club supplied stop watches) and anyone to be witnesses, observers and advisers. While the teams should be well along in their design and testing phases, they can always benefit from the accumulated knowledge we have available.

We generally take advantage of one or another restaurant that Amesbury offers after (and even before) each launch, so allow some time for that, too.

I have plans for the evening but I can put in a few hours during the early part of the afternoon. I can bring some tools, parts, epoxy and CA.

Took a look at the field yesterday and there is no snow cover. Today's storm has only put a coating on the grass at my condo, so far. There's snow predicted later in the week but, as has happened most of this winter, it will change to rain and be followed by a couple of warm days. The 23rd of February is predicted to be clear and in the 40's. We have a few club members ready to volunteer, now all we need are some TARC teams to confirm their participation.

I checked out the TARC web site to view the list of teams by state and city. There are about 9 teams that are fairly local. You would think one or two of them would want to at least have a trial flight.

As there have been no replies regarding flights attempts for 23 February, we are cancelling that session.

If any team makes a last-minute decision to attempt flights, there will be a launch that day in Berwick, ME, they can attend. MMMSC is hosting a launch for some college teams and will be able to handle the witnessing for any TARC teams. Directions to the Berwick field are available from the CMASS website. The launch window will be from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Launch equipment will be provided; be sure to bring all the other materials you need to attempt your flights especially the paperwork if you're going for qualification flights.

CMASS will keep the 23 March and 06 April TARC launches on the schedule and hope to have some teams utilize these opportunities.
