claudes spider 20201019 1915865577We weren't originally scheduled for a second launch in October, but the CMASS College of Cardinals and the weather looked kindly down upon us and gave us a great day to launch. It wasn't a perfect day as the winds did pick up in the afternoon blowing toward the power lines shutting down HPR launches. But it was clear skies, temps in the 50's and just a great New England autumn day. We didn't have a lot of fliers there, possibly because the launch was pushed to Sunday. We had 108 flights with motors ranging from 13 mm A's to a pair of CTI I212 Smokey Sam motors. And if you guessed it was Curtis that flew the pair of Smokey Sams on a upscale Deuce's Wild  - well, that was an easy guess so don't feel too proud of yourself. We had no CATO's, no certification flights and four HPR flights in total. We also only had 6 A motor flights total; 2 13 mm A's and 4 A8-3's. The majority of the flights by far were in the C and D range.

Curtis actually got in 3 Deuce's Wild flights; 2 with a pair of G motors and the HPRscott his rockets 20201018 1254931893 I motors. All were nice flights! Howard flew a really nice upscale QModeling Andromeda on an Aerotech E30 motor. The Andromeda is actually his dad's and it flew great. His dad would be proud! Mike Lehmann flew a new Estes Mars Leaper! I think this is a great idea and sorry I missed the flight. I hope the little guy landed OK. I flew 3 of my Halloween rockets. The 'Weird Sisters' and Coffin Roc flew nicely, but the Spider landed on its head! No damage and she will be spinning webs again next year. Scott Clement had more of his Halloween collection - nine flights in all! That's impressive. Unfortunately, Scott had some brain trouble that day! His 'Skull and Cross Bones' arched over and crash landed on its head before ejecting its brains - twice! He has one thick skull! Pictures are in the Gallery. Please post yours.

Thanks to everyone who attended for abiding by the Covid guidelines. Thanks again to Kenn and Guy for manning the launch table most of the day; to Howard for representing 'Esther's Engines'; and to Howard, Tony, Frank, Joe and everyone else who helped with set up and take down and the launch in general.

Our next scheduled launch is Nov 7 at Woodsom Farm. Right now, it looks like we will be flying from noon to 4 pm, with a night launch following. Check back for updates!
