After the miserable winter we had it was nice to be out on the field and flying again. Unfortunately, the forecast of highs in the fifties and winds between 10 and 15 mph was accurate. At least the wind was blowing down the long dimension of the field from the power lines to the parking lot. That picture was taken early in the day (there are more in the Gallery and the Fliskits website) and it doesn't look like there were many people. According to Jim Flis, there were over 80 people there. I'll take his word for it. I do know there were around 170 flights. There were even several certification flights. I think there were 3 Level 1 and 1 Level 2 and, although there were some long recovery walks, I believe they were all successful. There were no spectacular failures. Okay, maybe one. But it did look real nice going up. We were joined by a bunch of enthusiastic Cub Scouts from Pack 89 in North Andover who were cheered on by LCO Kenn. Really, I'm not making that up. The mandatory post launch debriefing was conducted at Acapulco's.
