First, an explanation of why we held a launch on Saturday when the high temperature was around 40 instead of Sunday when it was 10 degrees warmer. It's been CMASS policy for years to go with the first acceptable day when we have a choice of two. There are reasons. We've been burned by a bad forecast before and the second day has turned out worse than the first. And a lot of us have to plan ahead making a last minute change really inconvenient. That said, it wasn't really all that bad. The temperature and wind speed were as forecast except for the 30 MPH wind gusts that never happened. Of course the wind was blowing across the short dimension of the field which made skillful aiming a necessity. We had around 175 flights so there was never much of a wait to get a pad. Because of the early sunset we had to start tearing the range down at 3:45. When then moved down to the road and used our smaller controller and pads to conduct about a half a dozen night flights. We wrapped the night launch up around 5:00 and a dozen of us headed to the Barking Dog  for the traditional post launch debriefing. Keep your warm clothes handy, we'll be announcing the date for the January launch shortly.
